Selection in notepad - Scroll and change focus scrolls back

I'm curious to know if there is a change for this because it is annoying to me since it occurs when something is highlighted in selection as well as AFTER it is unselected. I've uploaded a gif - With a bunch of random text, I select some, scroll away so it is out of view and then click out to a different window. This causes notepad to scroll so the selection is in view.

Is there a way to stop or change this behavior? Does it have something to do with my settings of allowing scrolling of inactive windows?

Click in the square button up in the top right hand corner to maximize the window. If that's not what you are looking for, i'm not sure I understanding what you are not wanting it to do.

I don't want the window maximized. I have it not-maximized to show the behavior.

What I want to have happen is when I click out of the window of notepad to anything else, I want the current view to not change at all. The gif shows what happens currently when a selection is made, scrolled out of view and then notepad loses focus. When losing focus I do not want it to move back to that selection.

ohh ok. . I gotcha! I just opened up Notepad on my PC and mine doesn't do that. I typed in a bunch of random stuff, highlighted something, then clicked another window, then came back to it, and it stayed where I had left it..........There's no "Settings" in Notepad to change anything except the font/size. . . . Have you tried Notepad++? https://notepad-plus-plus.org/

I can't reproduce your case behavior. My selection stays put (outside of view). But I'm on Insider. Will check that in RTM version.

I can recreate it on current 17134 RTM version. Scroll inactive windows setting makes no difference.

There have been a lot of changes to notepad on insider - perhaps it fixed it? I don't have any installed at the moment to check.

I'm on the newest public version and I can't get it to repeat either.

I am on 17134.191, so perhaps this is fixed on insider and will be done in the future for RTM?
