Now, 6 days later, the issue was there suddenly.
While I was looking on Facebook.
No similarity on earlier occasions found......

I restored to 1709 back now, and will think to try again over some days and then install the latest drivers.
But at first I thought it looked promising, because on earlier occasions of 1803 (when DDU was not used) it occurred much earlier/quick then now after 6 days...
    Pity though.....

Did you shut off Nvidia updating drivers in 1803?

You may have to look around. I don't have nvidia but I believe it is part of the GeForce experience app.

Personally I dislike the idea that anyone who has an account here, can download the zip-file and has my computer information.
There are a lot of things in there which I would not be happy about when anyone can see that.
So if you can say what specific info you need, then I can consider giving that.

The logs should have technical information.
There shouldn't be any personal files in the logs.

*Next time, keep Ressource Monitor and Task Manager* open all the time. Left shift + TAB to monitor the activity permanently.

I"m not convince that you are dealing with a display driver, but with an app(s) that does not fully support 1803 yet.

You must find a witch or what causes the CPU to go crazy. Trying to upgrade with the ISO file is also a good option (setup.exe)..

You seem very good at problem resolution, so go ahead.

    All the best,
    Mike

Yes, but they reveal a lot of things about me. What my LAN looks like. What programs I installed. Etc etc.
It reveals too much for my taste,

    Hello Mike,
I am on the same path now.
Yesterday I did a new upgrade to 1803 and used DDU and the same driver that worked OK for 6 days.
Within an hour it went wrong again.
So probably an app or so is going nuts.

I will certainly test it again, but for now I keep it on hold, as I need this computer to do my thing.
And after all, I will nothing miss that much with 1803. So maybe I will skip it and see, I don't know yet.
My feature updates are deferred for 365 days, so with 1709 I am good to go for now.

    Cheers!

    Kees
