Thanks, yeah I had already seen that MSI forum thread, but they were talking about disconnecting drives and stuff to force it into BIOS, and I don't want to mess with all that.
Disconnecting drives won't hurt anything. If they're not connected, nothing can modify them.
Disconnecting drives will force it into the BIOS.

Stop trying to get Windows to do it.

BOOTing to BIOS has absolutely nothing to do with OS, nothing.
Well, except that you can boot to BIOS from Windows 10. Using two different methods. So....

Well, based on the excellent tutorial I'm sure it WOULD work if someone wasn't such a total wimp and afraid to do recovery stuff and disconnect hard drives because he's certain his computer would suddenly be unable to boot and I'd loose everything and my computer would blow up and stuff like that.

Try holding down a key other than delete during bootup.

Thanks. Yeah I tried f2 and some others, held them down continually sometimes, tapped them as fast as I could other times, used Shift+reset to shut down, stood on one foot and clucked like a chicken...nothing seems to work.

Did you try that MSI's utility (Fast boot - get it from MSI for your motherboard) that CountMike mentioned?
    Comment From MSI:
When you enable fast boot function, the computer disallow you enter BIOS by click DEL key while booting. In this demonstration, we'll show you how to enter BIOS with GO2BIOS application.
    And demonstration of GO2BIOS

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the help. But I'm a real tough case. I no longer have any MSI CD's since my homebuilt doesn't have a CD player and I figured I could get everything online anyway. So I don't have the Fast Boot app. And searching the MSI website for my motherboard there is no FastBoot app, unless it's hidden in another app, but I checked the docs and couldn't find it anywhere. Nor could i find Go2BIOS.

My plan is maybe this weekend I'll have a couple of beers, and usually after the second beer I really don't give a damn, so maybe then I'll get brave and disconnect my OS drive to get into the BIOS.

BTW, is it just me, or is it absolutely insane that merely getting into BIOS is that difficult in an operating system that has been around since the 90's? Seriously? They can't make a little startup file on your drive that says "next time boot to BIOS"?

Pretty much nothing, until suddenly the Windows login screen appears. I think it's doing fast boot, and I have an OS disk that's an SSD, so everything is super fast. Which is great during normal use, but if you have to get into BIOS you're SOL.
