Create bitlocker key on a flash drive?

Create bitlocker key on a flash drive?-20180721_082812.jpg

I am locked out of my Surface Pro 3 which requires the bitlocker key.

I do have the key but the blue screen asks for it on a USB flash drive. It says to hit Esc or the Windows key for more options but nothing responds if I do that.

I don't have it on a flash drive so I am wondering if there is any way to create one using my laptop. Or is my Surface now a brick?

Have you tried copying your bitlocker key from your OneDrive account to a USB flash drive using another pc ?

Have a look at method 2 shown here:
2 Ways to Recover BitLocker Recovery Key for Surface Pro | Password Recovery

    Hope that helps.

Thank you. Yes, I have access to the key on my Microsoft account. It looks as if there is no export function but the key could be copied and pasted to a flash drive but I am not sure what the Surface is looking for. Is it just a text file or some sort of exported key special format?

I should say I am travelling at the moment and my resources here are limited.

Normally the bitlocker "keyfile" file is a specially formatted text file, so you do need to copy the file exactly as you find it in your Microsoft Account.

Thanks. I am home tomorrow so I'll have a go from my laptop. Glad to know there is hope!
