EventID 28 Error setting traits on provider 0xC0000001

    Hello,

In the event viewer I have a whole lot of these errors.
In the Administrative events that is.

Really no idea to get rid of these.

Any help is very much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Kees

    Noone???

I do not think they are that important, but I am curious if someone can point it out.

    Regards

Me, too. No idea yet what is causing them.

I'm not sure this is a serious problem. See this MS Technet thread for some hopefully helpful discussion: Event ID 28 Error setting traits on Provider

Thanks for the heads-up. Even being aware that many, if not most errors in Event Viewer can be ignored or will be fixed on their own, when debugging one invariably gets caught up in determining what may indeed be so dismissed. Oh, well.

Glad you found it mildly comforting. I try to fight the battles that make sense, and the ones that I can win! May your Windows experiences be similar or better than that.

Searching the reg I find the provider does not exist. So, what/where is the origin of the request? It might hold a ton of answers to other questions. I don't tolerate errors. Lots of people have compiler tech, and like to use it when necessary. Guess I'll query "Error setting traits on Provider" in the reg, and see what it says. Tks.

Hello guys , i discovered my headset Razer Kraken USB cause this event ID too and is not a problem of the headset , i have 2 sam model one use and the other new sealed i open and tested and give me same error ID , if i remove from the PC the event wont show again never , idk if it beacuse missing some type of driver the headset , but the PC never give me any blue screen and the headset work 100% fine
