    Start Menu Tile Problem

I have a number of computers and I regularly fix and maintain a number of others. Yesterday, I rebuilt a laptop with the latest OS build 17134.167 and, as usual, I delete quite a number of tiles from the start menu and then add a couple of my own. To my amazement, all the tiles I deleted came back upon reboot and the ones I added disappeared. I did a Google search and tried a few things, none of which worked. I always delete a number of tiles from the menu and never have I had this problem. I think it may have to do with the OS build however, I have that build on my own computer and the tiles I deleted did not re-appear. Confusing to say the least - anyone else notice this? Any idea what I can do to get it to act normally once again?

    Hello engine987,

You could see if resetting your Start layout to default may help of it's corrupted, but you'll have to manually pin everything you want back to Start afterwards.

Brink, thank you for your quick reply. The default start menu is what I get after I modify the menu and reboot. It displays properly and I can delete and add tiles with no problem. It just keeps on resetting itself back to default. This is a fresh installation of Windows 10 so I will wait to see if others reply before trying your suggestion.

Random thought- as an experiment, try turning Fast Startup off- assuming it's on.
