since latest update 1803 getting devicecensus errors

Since I updated to 1803 i have been getting devicecensus.exe errors in the reliability and problem history.

Have no idea where this is coming from though some people suggest that it is linked to anti-virus programs. I am running Windows Defender and Malwarebytes (paid version, just updated a few days ago). Malwarebytes is not allowed to register in the Windows Action Center.

Driving me a little nuts. Totally flummoxed.

Any suggestions? And let me add that other than that the machine seems to be working just fine.

    Thank you in advance.

Me too, but only on machines running Pro (x86 or x64). It doesn't happen in Home. All are on 1803, 17134.167 or 17134,165, but it's been happening once a day since 4th July, so the build is probably not relevant. It occurs on one machine that's a clean install of 1803 and on another that was upgraded from Window 7 through all previous versions of Windows 10. So far I haven't found a way to fix it.

Unlikely, I don't have any other AV - just Defender.

It seems to be involved in telemetry about your use of the webcam.

Thanks. It seems poor MS QA strikes again. There are several fixes including changing your feedback to basic and changing "Ask for feedback" to never.

Follow the link Bree gave, and stop the scheduled task.
