    Transferring data between two computers.

Hello, I have recently bought a new laptop and I want to transfer all the data from my Personal Computer to laptop. Which option should I use, disk image or clone creator? Is transferring all the data in order to make my laptop the same as my computer even possible? Both laptop and computer use Windows Ten.

    Thanks in advance!

You can't clone as the drivers activation wouldn't be the same so you could have massive problems. It's very simple if you login to the new PC with the same ms account a lot of things will be synchronized then put all your data on the old PC into one drive or Google drive and it will all appear as if by magic on the new PC and it will keep both in sync

Yea, I know about Microsoft's built-in synchronization option. It is not enough. I really have lots of data, not only in settings. I have my computer hard drive backed up so I was thinking about buying adapter to restore data to my laptop from it.

Macrium Reflect Free works best for that. I would use an external hard drive that is large enough to hold a backup of both computers. Backup up both computers, then restore only the C: drive partition from the old computer over the top of the C: drive partition of the laptop. Then run Macrium Reflect's fix Windows boot problems utility and you should be fine. NOTE, only move the C: drive partition (and any other partitions that contain your data). Do not move any system or recovery partitions.

Of course, both editions of Windows on both computers must be the same - Home/Home, Pro/Pro, etc.

If you have any drivers that aren't automatically loaded on the laptop after the copy, then you can mount the Macrium Reflect image you made of it at the beginning and load those drivers from the \Windows\System32\DriverStore folder in the mounted backup image (using Device Manager) to manually load them.

Post #2 expressed an opinion a lot of us don't agree with. Windows 10 moves between computers very well.
