new HP 840 G5 will NOT enter sleep mode v 1709

New HP 840 G5 has all the latest drivers, BIOS, and WinX updates for v 1709 WinX Pro. It is set to only download security updates. Kaspersky is always on, Defender does Periodic Scanning-

It will NOT enter sleep mode, have checked Power Options, etc.

Checked with CMD and it indicates that the firmware will not allow S1 or S2, but will allow S3

I now put it on battery power and as set, it went into sleep mode in 5 minutes

.... however it would not get out of sleep mode; had to physically turn off the machine with the on/off button as I have been forced to in every case so far

acpi driver issues. Is this the Out of the box install of Windows 10 or a clean install of the Microsoft Windows 10 iso?

Out of the box, it came with 1709. Let me rephrase that: the store owner and official Hp repair person took it out of the box and the pre-installed software installed 1709 (no choice allowed)

I think ALL the drivers and BIOS were now updated via HP Support Assistant, however I do not know what an acpi driver is nor if it was updated

Forgot to mention: also had problem with clicking to shutdown, had fixed THAT ....

    but now ALL fixed:

Goes into Sleep mode and Wakes with mouse or keyboard (tested many times to be sure)

    HERE is what works >

    Power Options

power button: batt & plugged > sleep

    HP Optimized:

Sleep: allow hybrid sleep > batt & plugged: On
allow wake timers: batt > disable / plugged > enable
PCI Express / Link State Power Management: batt & plugged: moderate
