Navigation Pane - Will Not Expand to Open Folder

Like the title says, I cannot get the navigation pane to expand to the currently open folder right now on one of my machines, it stays stuck on either Desktop or Quick Access. And mainly when navigating one of the virtual folders, like "My Documents".

I think I need to go kill me some junctions or something.

My user profiles are NOT in the default locations.
They are on a different drive.

    Hello cDreamDancer,

If you haven't already, you might see if you may be able to use an option in the tutorial below to toggle and turn on "Expand to current folder".

Been there, done that, no changes.

Unless this is one of them stupid settings that won't take effect unless you reboot windows, let me try that.

It shouldn't need to restart for that setting, but a restart may help if something else is causing it not to get applied.

I looked things over, and there's something queer going on with my machine involving virtual folders and junctions.

    Currently have 4 folders open:
    1) Image Manipulation
    2) WinAPI
    3) Thumbnailer
    4) Pillows

    Each one was accessed differently:
    1) Image Manipulation - Exists in a folder on the desktop, so double click, double click
    2) WinAPI - Shortcut on desktop, points to a folder in a folder off the root of drive C
    3) Thumbnailer - Opened via Firefox downloads
    4) Pillows - Opened by right-clicking on a shortcut on the desktop and selecting "open file location", folder exists in subfolder of Documents. Or is it My Documents, suddenly not sure.

What the address bar shows on each and what the path contained in the address bar contains, as well as where in the hierarchy of folders they show up in with the navigation pane tree.:
    1) Image Manipulation
    > pbasic > image manipulation
    F:\Users\UserName\Desktop\pbasic\image manipulation

Shows up as a descendant child of Desktop.

    2) WinAPI
    > This PC > DriveC (C:) > PBWin90 > WinAPI
    C:\PBWin90\WinAPI

Descendant child of This PC, in the folder structure of the C drive.

    3) Thumbnailer
    > This PC > DriveD (F:) > Users > UserName > Pictures > test papers > thumbnailer
    F:\Users\UserName\My Pictures\test papers\thumbnailer

Descendant child of This PC, in the folder structure of the F drive following the path from the root, not from Pictures.

    4) Pillows
    > My Documents > Furcadia > Furbot Files > pillows
    F:\Users\UserName\My Documents\Furbot Files\pillows

Shows "Quick Access" no matter where I navigate from this folder.

Something funky with my junctions me thinks.
