    Windows notifications

I get a really annoying popup dialog, that says select to choose what happens with removable drives, which appears in the bottom right corner of windows, if i plug in a usb memory stick.

Solved by disabling autoplay in notifications and actions.

    Such as this?...

    Turn Off AutoPlay.

Yes, but the option to disable it is greyed out.

If you mean greyed out like this:

... then it sounds like a policy has been applied to prevent changing the toggle state of some of the notifications.

Is this a work computer or your own?

Yes, that's exactly how it looks on my computer.

OK, download and double-click on this REG file:

System - Notifications & actions - ENABLE changes to toggle state (default).reg

(If you open it in Notepad you'll see it just works on the CURRENT_USER hive. All it does is allow changes to the toggle state again, i.e. back to the default.)

The change should be dynamic, i.e. no need to sign out/sign in or restart.

    Hope this helps...

    Or...

if you still want to utilize AutoPlay, set defaults as well in Control Panel/AutoPlay...

The options are still greyed out, even after installing the registry tweak and signing out and into my computer again.

You have to reboot after making a registry change I believe. A total reboot, not the fast boot either.
