Windows 10 keeps restarting after Security Center Reset from Services

My Windows 10 Anti Virus wasn't running and found that I should "Reset" the Security Center from Windows 10 "Services".

Security Center was set to automatic and I selected "reset" from services.

however now Windows 10 automatically restarts while attempting to log-in after a reboot after which the same screen is displayed that somethings wrong with Windows 10 re-start.

It's now in a loop of continual restarts where there is an error code ???? 0000000f and other messages that something went wrong such as a device or something else could not be loaded ... sorry I can't remember and would need to do it again and write the messages down.

I'm currently online in Safe Mode however haven't been able to perform a standard log-in.

I'm wondering what my options currently are to login in standard (non-safe) mode?

It all began because Anti-virus wasn't running but everything else with the security and OS seemed to be ok.

Ok after several more attempts I'm able to finally perform a standard login.

Previously a message kept appearing that something was wrong and that Windows 10 would perform a restart or reset for me.

Now that I'm logged in non safe mode I'm still unable to start Windows Defender Antivirus

Error: 1053 "The service did not respond to a start or control request in a timely fashion"

I don't have any other security software installed.

I'm currently trying suggestions from this post

Tried the suggestions of stopping services, then restarting. However all that resulted with Windows 10 finding something wrong and needing to restart windows again.

After several attempts not being able to log in eventually was able to achieve a standard login where I'm currently at .. however I'm afraid to do reboot windows as it may run into the restarting loop again finding something wrong of which it won't explain what exactly.

Who and why the developers add this sort of troubleshooting routines is beyond me. Windows finds a problem won't disclose what it as and keeps rebooting potentially more than a dozen times saying it found a problem and now needs to restart without any error codes and other descriptions and explanations.

It not exactly a mission critical problem.

Currently after checking these service are currently running

    • Background Intelligent Transfer Service” - Automatic
    • “Cryptographic” service - Automatic
    • “Windows Update” service - Automatic with delayed start

Defenders Antivirus service won't start keeps producing the same 1053 error upon attempting to start.

I'm not going to perform another restart until I have more information why Windows 10 keeps finding something wrong after a restart, won't log-in and decides it will check everything and restart for me and then enter a continual restarting loop each with the same messages without any or much of an explanation for what's going on etc..

Appears the 1803 update fixed the problem with antivirus and resetting. It took over an hour to install the update from an iso file as Windows Update couldn't install it for some reason.

I was going to wait until I could backup Windows 10 but was unable to using Macrium, something to do with Unable to read from disk - Error Code 1117 while trying to backup to an external drive.

So anyway if having the same or similar problem try installing the Windows 10 1803 update to see if it rectifies the problem with Defender's antivirus not running and other problem with resetting, etc.
