Why do the icon sizes not match on the Taskbar?

    Hi -

I'm trying to add some icons to the taskbar, but as you can see with the purple arrow, the sizes are different.
I tried making the icon size larger, but to no effect.

I want them all to be the same size.

    Suggestions welcome!

    TIA

Those icons do not appear to be on the Taskbar. They look like they are in the System Tray, which always has smaller icons.

How exactly did you try to put the icons on the Taskbar?

Right, those in my Notification Area [old name was System Tray] are also smaller than those in the Taskbar itself, tends to make more room for those items always running.

The Links Bookmark bar is something totally different. Not the same as the real program icons locked to the bar.

    Bree is correct!

I just enabled and extended the Links Bar to gain some real estate to place desktop icons (shortcuts) in.
If anyone has suggestions on how this could be better implemented I would appreciate it.

All I need to do is enable that Taskbar to accept shortcut icons, which I do not see a way to do.

Kind of funny, when you do the same with XP, the icons tend to be the same size. Go figure.

You can make all the icons the same size. You can't make those icons larger, but there's an option to use small Taskbar icons in Personalization > Taskbar.

    Hey Compumind,
Don't know if this helps, but the Links Bar actual folder is C:\Users\USERNAME\Favorites\Favorites Bar and whatever shortcuts you place there should show in in your Links Bar.

    Note:
    1. If you've moved Favorites Folder to another drive then it wouldn't be C:\ but whatever drive you moved it to.
    2. Never noticed this before, but it actually gets it's name from C:\Users\USERNAME\Favorites\Links ... In File Explorer once you get to C:\Users\USERNAME\Favorites\Favorites Bar and click on it in the address bar it changes to C:\Users\USERNAME\Favorites\Links

Create a New Toolbar with your choice of shortcuts in it,
with Taskbar unlocked, hover on the folder divider bar til you see a double headed arrow, right click and chose large icons from the context menu...

    @Eagle51 and @Edwin -

Tried both of your approaches, but the net result is the same.
Just to recap, if you look at my snapshot above...

I would like all the additional icons to match in size to Small Icons.
Perhaps there is another way or I have to accept it. Just one Taskbar to conserve real estate.

    Thanks anyway!
