widows10 upgraded now my laptop won't boot up

hi guys, I am having issues with my Lenovo Tablet, it did an automatic update yesterday. Now when I switch on it goes into self checks and system restore fails every time, also diagnostics doesn't find the fault. I am at a loss as to how to proceed. However I have ordered ausb reboot which I hope may help advice please regards John

    Hi John

Was your automatic update just a run of the mill update or a full fledged Feature update like V1803?

Do you know what version you were on, 1703, 1709 or 1803?

If 1803 you can create your own USB key using the media creation tool.

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/soft...load/windows10

You can get other versions, it isn't as slick.

With the USB key you can then use this tutorial Option 5 to get started.

Boot to Advanced Startup Options in Windows 10

If this was a feature update I would hope it would allow you to "Go back to previous build"

There is this write up on rebuilding the BCD

    http://www.lifewire.com/how-to-rebui...indows-2624508

The first thing I would do is create this recovery disc and get my data off before trying anything.

Windows 10 Recovery Tools - Bootable Rescue Disk

If all else fails in terms of restoring there is the Clean install. Again the media is free and your machine will re-activate, no product code required.

    Clean Install Windows 10

I know it is late for this recommendation but once recovered I can't stress enough the use of a tool like Macrium Reflect. It is free, RELIABLE and member recommended. Please consider it or something like it.

    Clean Install Windows 10

Hi Ken, many thanks for your support. In answer to your question, it was a normal update on boot up but after the update said do Ibwant to free up space by deleting previous version I clicked yes. Ever. Since I have been in this infernal loop and tablet will not boot up. I have been through all the options even the bios but fails to repair so I purchased a repair usb only to find their is no usb option on the tablet. Unfortunately I am unable to make a repair disc or go online to download keys etc as I only have my iPhone and an iMac which, is incompatible with Windows. It looks like I will end up paying a computer geek to fix it which, rankles as this appears to be a common fault with windows 10. Regards John

    Sorry to hear that.

What do you mean no USB option? Is this a laptop

If it doesn't recognize USB make sure Fast Boot is off in BIOS and secure boot. That can help.

If it's a Tablet, the power port doubles as a USB port, you just need a mini USB cable to connect to it.

Give us the Table make and full model number so we can look it up.

Sorry to be a pest. So Fast Boot is off in BIOS?

On a lenovo when you first power up try the F12 key to get boot menu. If that doesn't work try Fn (Function) with F11 please.

That tablet has a Micro USB 2.0 connector. You need the micro USB to USB cable to connect it to a flash drive. Something like this:
StarTech 5" Micro USB to USB OTG Host Adapter M/F

You can also buy Micro USB flash drives but they are more expensive than normal USB flash drives.

You can download Windows 10 Home from Microsoft using the Media Creation Tool on any Windows 7, 8 or 10 computer and create a bootable flash drive from it to boot from for doing repair functions and diagnostic stuff or to use the ASUS reboot flash you ordered (what is this and why did you order it for a Lenovo Tablet?).

Ok guys, my Lenovo tablet has a keyboard with two USB ports
and the reason I purchased a windows10 usb repair stick was because my tablet has USB ports it is in fact like a notebook. However I will try your suggestions and let you know the outcome.
