Have one computer with Win 10, that you keep disconnected from the internet, and never do the updates.

Have another computer with Linux, that you just use for the internet.

    Not a bad idea!
You forgot to add and throw away your smartphone. Actually I use an android phone but the custom ROM is lineageos, open source and contains no apps from Google. Plus permission controls, firewall, etc.
    I assure you I'm not really paranoid....😉

I do not care for those "privacy/antispy" tools anymore. They tend to break some things in your system. Do a full system backup before playing with them. Besides, as Dalchina has said, using social networks is a great source of invading privacy.
This one isn't too bad. I tried it out on a test machine and they color coat changes that won't harm the system if disabled. For a small lightweight app, I like it.

Would it help to know the IP addresses that Windows uses to phone home?
If you were to block those at the firewall would that not end the spying data-sharing?
    And probably everything else.
Anecdotally, since I disconnected them from our network, my W10 1703 Home laptop & W10 1703 Pro VM have run flawlessly.

You could also dual boot to achieve that.

He is entitled to his viewpoint but I don't agree. Anymore than I believe the government is *only* monitoring certain people's correspondence and discarding anything else they accidentally collect and similar tales. If all the data collected by apps and windows 10 was so innocent it wouldn't be done surreptitiously.

    I run ShutUp10.
I disabled all Widows Update related files in System32 and SysWOW64.

I'm staying on 1709 whether anyone likes it or not.
I don't care if Microsoft cares about my data or not.

I've cut telemetry off at the knees...and telemetry will remain cut off at the knees until such a time as I see fit to fit it with prosthetics - if ever.

Hey, it's a matter of personal choice as I said in my Win10.Guru post. But if everybody chooses to forgo telemetry we all lose as a consequence, because it is an important source of feedback. Thanks for the plug @CountMike.

Fear not, the vast majority are either unaware that they are grist for the telemetry mill; or are aware -but don't care; or do care -but not enough to take action.

Having said that, we'd all get along just fine even if Microsoft didn't have lambs to fleece.
