    Black Screen of Death

Hi guys, hoping to get some help here. My laptop did an update about 2 weeks ago. My computer started running slow immediately afterwards and finally crashes. When I try to do 3 hard restarts it goes to repair mode and then the black screen of death for over 24 hours. I've tried holding shift while restarting and it doesn't do anything.

Running an Acer Aspire E 15 with Windows 10.

When you visit the "Download Windows 10" Web page, click the "Download tool now" link. You can follow the instructions on that page to learn how to use the Media Creation Tool (MCT) to build bootable media on a USB flash drive or optical disk (DVD or Blu-ray).

Thanks for all the help everyone! Got it downloaded on a USB. This will work even though the computer won't load?

Okay so I downloaded the ISO for Windows 8. Same thing happens, Windows tries to start, then says it encountered a problem and needs to start in Repair Mode, then goes to a black screen. 😔

Start the computer and watch the screen closely for something like "Press Esc for setup". Insert the USB stick, restart the computer, press the appropriate key and look for "Boot Menu" or "Boot Order". If you find "Boot Menu", select USB. If you can only find "Boot Order", change it so that "USB" is above "Hard Drive". Be sure to save the change when exiting. Please be advised that some laptops cannot boot from USB sticks.
