Laptop turns off & battery stuck at same percentage

Recently I've ran into the problem that my laptop shuts off randomly whenever its not charging and unplugged.
First my laptop ran smoothly with no problem for an hour or so without charging then suddenly turns off.
Now my laptop won't turn on without being charged and it turns off immediately when unplugging the charger. I've already replaced the battery so that doesn't seem to be the problem, so are there more things I could try to get my laptop working properly again? The battery says its charging aswell but that's not the case.

I've followed the suggestions people posted on that thread but nothing solved the problem so far. I've made a short screenshot of the battery report which explains whats going on better:


The battery is on AC for some reason and won't charge, i've tried taking the battery out and inserting it in again while it was on AC but still no success.

Which setting there are multiple ones?

And what is the design capacity and fully charge capacity.... back to how old is battery?

The battery is just two days old, I've recently replaced it with an older one.

May be an incompatibility with Win 10. Dell only supports (has drivers) for XP/Vista/Win 7

Those numbers look good for design and full, 45 of 48 is way more than 40%.

See if Dell has a battery driver for your box.

Can you look in your Windows update history and see when 1803 was installed. Could you also go to bottom of list and see if any drivers were recently install.

Do either of these dates match when your issue started?

I assume there are no devices in your device manager reporting issues (yellow exclamation marks)

The laptop only hibernates when the battery is critical or low which happens when its below 20% >
Remember the laptop shuts off entirely all of a sudden, like the shutdown which is bad for your hard drive.
- Which isn't the case cause the battery says its on 40% charge and its stuck at that percentage.
- Dell does not have a battery driver for W10.
- Windows Update 1803 was installed two weeks ago and the issue just recently popped up two days ago.
No recent drivers install aswell.

These two drivers have been reporting issues for ages but couldn't be bothered to do anything about them and honestly don't think they are causing the problem im having now.

I'm starting to believe this is becoming more of a hardware issue unfortunately
