    Font color much brighter in Windows 8

    The font color in the Windows 8 command prompt is much brighter than in Windows 10. Is there a way to make the font color from Windows 10 like in Windows 8?

    Different display drivers and also changes in Windows 10 desktop GUI. If adaptive Brightness is enabled, disable it.

    Hello Ricardo,

    As a workaround, you could change the "screen text" color in the command prompt to be "white" instead of the default "light gray" to make it brighter.

    Thanks, already tried this but still not good enough. I'm visually impared. I can read the windows 8 command line font much better. I also have the impression that the font in Windows 10 powershell is brighter than that of the command prompt in Windows 10.

    You might see if increasing the font size and/or changing the font to something that looks better to you may help more.

    I figured it out:

    Right click command prompt title bar, Proprieties, Color Tab, select "Text on the screen", select the white color you want to change on the color palete. In "Selected color Values you change it in the following way:

    Red = 255
    Green = 255
    Blue = 255

    For some reason the default in Windows 10 is:

    Red = 242
    Green = 242
    Blue = 242

    If you change the font to Lucida Console and increase the size to 18 dots it gets even better.
