Win 10 freezes at blue screen plus circle on new Asus laptop

    G'day Tenforums,

Have read 40 pages of Forum, could not find answer.
    Asus Notebook (laptop) computer.
    SonicMaster, F555BA XX188T.
    O.S. - Windows 10.

I purchased this laptop a couple of days ago and opened it to start when I got home.
Problem. It started alright, went through some processes such as agreeing to the Agreement, Computer Name, Password and then nothing apart from a notification "Juust a moment..." .
The cursor shows and moves around as directed by the mouse or touchpad but the laptop does not respond.
I am fairly knowledgable with computers.

Do you have any helpful suggestions I could try, apart from returning it to the retailer?
    Hope you can help.

    Cheers,
    Stuart.

Hi, Stuart, welcome to 10F. Please remove your last line and don't ever publish such personal details.
The problem you describe is most probably caused by bad/non-working graphic driver. Force shutdown by holding start button and after 2 tries it should start in troubleshooting mode.

When you first add your new user account it takes several minutes, it could take up to 10 or more minutes to finish. If it hangs, just restart the computer. If it never finishes, and this is a brand new computer, just take it back and exchange it for another one. You should never have to futz with a new computer when it is under warranty.

Count Mike, How do I delete the last line? Highlight and "del" do not seem to work.
Thank you Count Mike and "spunk" for your replies.

    G'day Count Mike,
Your suggestion worked and the Asus is now up and running.
    Many thanks, Cheers, Stuart76.

Stuart, if you haven't figured it out yet, look at the bottom right of your post and you should see Edit Post. Click on that and change your post from there.

Edit: I had to post this, then edit it to be sure what I told you was right.

Edit #2: The reason you don't want your complete info on any of your posts is that there are unscrupulous people out there who will copy it and sell it to a few gazillion crooks.

    G"day Wynona,
Cannot see the Edit Post anywhere on my Post. Maybe I'm blind in one eye and can't see out the other? (joke)
    Cheers, Stuart76.

You need to go to your first post where you left your name and address and click on it to read; only then will Edit Post show up.

Again, I have to post this, then edit it; be back in a sec . . .

Edit: OK, now look at the bottom right of the snippet and you'll see that I've circled Edit Post. Click on that, highlight the info and press delete. Then click on Save Changes (in the same place as Edit Post was).

    G'day Wynona,
Thanks, can only see "quote" and "multi quote" on the RH lower corner of my post???
    Thanks again. Cheers, STUART76.
P.S. Noticed that "edit post" was at the RH lower of this message when I posted it???
    Sorry for the nuisance.
