    Inputting music

My laptop has only Microphone and Earphone plugs. Is there any way I can input music from the headphones output plug of a, say, radio? I tried holding a microphone close to the radio speakers but the result was truly of poor quality. Thanks in advance.

Sure Just pick up patch cord and input away.

If you can find a radio shack they do sell patch cords for computers>radios.

Bestbuy or mono price.com also sell.

2-way cords, basically no different than plugging iPhone into my stereo, as tape deck.

If recording in Windows lame app and can’t presently recall my recording app.

On iPhone with several hundred miles separating me from laptop.

I use Audacity for my recordings. It's Open Source and free.

    https://www.audacityteam.org/

Also available as a Portable App (no install required).

    Thanks one and all.
    1. I happened to have a cord; attached it to microphone on laptop and output on radio.
    2. I d/l and installed Audacity as recommended.
    3. Recorded from the radio - miserable crack, crack, crack!
    4. I adjusted the recording and playback levels in Audacity - absolutely magnificent recording!
    5. Not bad for an old geezer, ha?
    6, Thanks again to all.

    I'm 74 going on 90.
I just lucked in on my fav. jazz station: just recorded In the Still of the Night by Billy Eckstine. Even my wife likes it !!!!!!!
Never a better version since 1944. (Personal opinion)

My deepest regret is having sold my LP collection; over 600 of them. I recall I even had Stardust by Hoagy himself on the pi-ana.
    Regrets? I'he had a few!
