Pinned apps, startup scripts delayed since Spring 2018 update

After the Spring 2018 update I found that an odd delay was happening after login. After system boot from an SSD the login screen appears as fast as it did before, after entering password the desktop and a fairly bare taskbar appear at once. but the app icons I have pinned to the taskbar, and any startup programs (e.g. Growl, Core Temp, Trusteer Rapport) and scripts are delayed for a bit more than 2 minutes, then they all appear at once. A batch script placed in the Startup folder shows system uptime at that point is always between 2 min 35 sec and 2 minutes 45 sec. While waiting for the pinned-to-taskbar app icons I can use the ones pinned to Start instead. Any ideas on what to look for in event logs? Not sure what information I need to give.

    Hello contrex,

You might see if disabling the startup delay using the method in the tutorial below may be able to help with this.

Hi brink, thanks for that. I tried the reg file to disable the delay; no difference, but thanks for replying.
