    Laptop Not Charging

My laptop lasts about 2 hours on battery so i assume that battery is not totally dead but when i leave my laptop ideal for few days without using it and then when i try to turn it on, the juice in battery is always gone. And it does not turn on when i connect the charger, even the charging indicator doesn't lights up on the laptop. I have noticed a tick tick sound coming from the laptop when i connect the charger. Although laptop does start showing charging sign and powers on after few hours or a day if you leave the charger on. So i am just wondering if someone has faced the same problem or knows why its happening with my laptop.

Make sure it shuts down completely and not staying in some sleep mode but I have a feeling your battery is going bad.

@CountMike I do shut it down completely but still it happens. And yes, i have a feeling too that maybe battery is going bad but my question is even if the battery is going down then why when i connect the charger, it doesn't power on. Like now, the charging sign came up after about 30 or 40 min since i plugged in the charger but sometimes it takes ages.

Most batteries have sensors inside, mostly for temperature but also for charging current etc. Try to start it without battery, only power adapter.
To make sure it's shut completely off, just run this line %windir%\System32\shutdown.exe -s -f -t 00 it works only that one time.

@CountMike Did as you said by running that command and shutting it down. It doesn't turn on without the battery.

Well, it's obviously something HW wise, most probably battery. How old it and which make is laptop ?. Most batteries are good for couple of years of full capacity and than gradually less and less.
