It's a good machine, maybe contacts on battery on laptop need some cleaning. I have seen some problems with them.
Yes its a good machine. But its only giving me troubles since i bought it online. It was like in a unused brand new condition when i bought, even the film on sides of it is still on. But i am not able to make the touchpad work on this machine since i bought it. I know its not a hardware issue bcz touchpad works in the initial windows setup but as soon as the windows setup starts it stops working. And when i try to install synaptics touchpad drivers from toshiba website, the installation of touchpad just disappears when i click on install. And now this power issue, i may never look at another Toshiba laptop ever again.

I have noticed a tick tick sound coming from the laptop when i connect the charger.
That doesn't sound normal to me. Are you sure it is from the laptop and not the charger ? Does the charger connection to the laptop feel normal/secure ? or does it feel loose in any way ?

The touchpad issue is unrelated to the power problems and my first thoughts on that would be to clean install W10 and so get rid of any previous unknown stuff on the drive.

Your power adapter may be going bad. If you can, try another power adapter.

I have several Toshibas that have worked reliably for many years.

Did you buy it as used or refurbished online? If so, was it supplied with the correct charger?

The Toshiba part number label on the base of the laptop will specify the voltage and current it requires. My Satellite L750 says 19v, 3.42A. The label on the power supply will also specify volts and current. If this is a Toshiba original it will be 19v, but depending on the part number the output current may vary. It must be capable of providing at least same current as the laptop requires, in my case 3.42A.

More is OK, but if it provides less current than required the power supply will be overloaded and will cut out. This would likely be the 'loud tick' you hear.

Toshiba has a Battery Diagnostic program: see if it's available on your computer.
I don't have a Toshiba so I can't point to instructions to find it.

@Bree I bought it used but in a very slight used condition. And i think it was supplied with a original charger.

Yes, that would seem to be the charger your model would have come with originally.
