Why can't I add desktop shortcuts to the Taskbar in W10 Pro?

I want to be able to have all my desktop shortcuts (many internet) to just drag/drop cleanly onto the Taskbar.

If you check my guide again you'll notice that there's no word " links " infront of that toolbar on the taskmanager.
I just didn't include how to remove, if i had known you didn't want it there i would have added it.

If you create a new toolbar it will be exactly the same. The name will show up infront but,
You can remove the word "Links" / other folder name from there, also the names of the shortcuts you place in that folder i showed you.

You can also have your Taskbar toolbar[s] on the left-hand side next to the Start menu button if you want. See Taskbar Toolbars - my drag them to the left ditty - TenForums

Whenever you want to alter the contents of a toolbar, you can right-click & open it anywhere in its structure from the whole thing down to individual subfolders & contents. Opened this way, you can just drag & drop new links etc into it wherever you want.

I started using Taskbar toolbars in Windows 7 when I got fed up with its Start menu & taskbar limitations. I now keep links to my most used applications on the Taskbar itself [along with a single internet link to TenForums and some similarly jobbed links to specific Excel files] and I use my toolbars for everything else.

What I am looking for (ideally) is a simple "drag and drop" Desktop to Taskbar solution in one step.
Would I be correct in saying that this is not possible to do without programming in Windows 10?

If I have to use some of the previously mentioned ideas, I will. Just want to be sure.

I frequently create Shortcuts on the Desktop then right-click drag and drop on the Taskbar, get the Pin to Taskbar at which point I just release it.

Related tip: When an open program is shown on the Taskbar, most times its icon can be right-clicked and Pin to Taskbar.

When I try with an Internet Shortcut, all it says is "Pin to Firefox" and does not attach to the Taskbar.
Yes, I use Firefox as my primary browser.

Yes, if not careful the shortcut will attempt to pin to a program that can open it, I see it when dragging a text file that insists on pinning to LibreOffice but not usually with a shortcut to an .exe file. It helps to have some blank space on the Taskbar so it doesn't accidentally see one of the pinned programs.

I'm not even near it. Lot's of unused Taskbar real estate.

Another gotcha, for me anyway with IE. Is if I try to pin my website shortcuts to one of my secondary monitors it doesn't pin. Even if the site is open on that monitor. I have to pin the shortcut to my main taskbar on the monitor I have set as my main display. I have to drag it to a blank area on that monitor. Just a FYI if your running multiple displays like I am, Firefox may do something similar.

On this particular system, just a single 27-inch monitor.
