Some programs require a specific version so disabling one or both may cause programs not to work, would be a trial and error test.

Yes I did the restart and the menu is gone now. Why do I have 3 installed of the same update. It keeps installing, that could be my problem. I was going to uninstall the net framework 4 but it's not listed in add and remove. I went to download and install from website and it says I have that version on my pc but I can't find it. How do I stop that same update from downloading and installing?
    Try the "Show/Hide" tool.

I used that to stop that one update from installing so we will see. Still can't find anything on the Net framework 4. I wanted to unistall it and reinstall in case there was a problem with that.

You can uninstall it but watch for programs that need it to quit working, may have to reinstall .NET and the program, or maybe the errant program will do it.

That's what I was going to do uninstall it and then reinstall it, but I can't find it to uninstall it anyway

I think all you need do is uncheck, should take it out of memory after rebooting.

    Ok I'll try that

Update: No that didn't work, still said I can't install because it's already on my pc.
