New update messes my start menu up

I tested to see if my menu works before I installed the new update, and it was working. After restart for the update I checked it again and it's missing. What is up with these updates that keep removing my start menu? This is getting to be a pain and to think I liked windows 10 but I'm beginning to wonder about that.

Please elaborate more on what you mean by "menu" and "start menu" ? A screen shot would be very helpful.

    the new update
    - and could you clarify - do you mean the upgrade to 1803, or a subsequent cumulative update?

In particular, was (the start menu) working immediately after upgrading to build 1803 (assuming you have).

Please post a screenshot of your Update History (Settings) so we can see your update list.

Also please state for clarity what it is you're doing, and what isn't happening. (E.g. I left click on the start button and nothing happens).

    Thanks.

As long as there is a Restart listed things may not have completely changed or restored. Each Version Upgrade tends to set things back to defaults, once in awhile a Build might do it. I'd do a Restart/Reboot and see what happens.

It looks as if your start menu is working.. is there anything specifically you are concerned about (other than the pending restart)?

Yes I did the restart and the menu is gone now. Why do I have 3 installed of the same update. It keeps installing, that could be my problem. I was going to uninstall the net framework 4 but it's not listed in add and remove. I went to download and install from website and it says I have that version on my pc but I can't find it. How do I stop that same update from downloading and installing?

In Programs and Features look at "Turn Windows features on or off" for .NET Framework.
