    Onedrive tray icon has disappeared

Noticed today that the Onedrive tray icon is missing. I tried re-installing with OneDriveSetup.exe and got error "A newer version of Onedrive is installed". I downloaded the latest version and got the same error.
Trying to run Onedrive from the startmenu gives the same error!
The Onedrive folder in file explorer shows that the files are still on the cloud.
    Any ideas?

    Please see if this helps:
OneDrive.exe fails to load after Windows 10 v1803 in-place feature - Microsoft Community

    You can try
Enable or Disable OneDrive Integration | Windows 10 Tutorials
    - noting
    If you disable OneDrive integration:

    • Users can’t open the OneDrive app.
    • The OneDrive app will not run at startup for all users.
    and
Turn On or Off Run OneDrive at Startup in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials

Check the setting in the list from the bottom option (assuming this is the same in 1803)

Thanks Dalchina for the links. There was what seems to be a fix in the first link. Onedrive is working again, but now the startmenu shows 2 Onedrives!

Even stranger is that my wife's laptop has also lost it's Onedrive icon, and does not work from the startmenu. This would indicate to me that this is a wider issue and must be affecting many people. We are both up to date running 17134.81

You can delete the start menu shortcuts by going to the relevant folders. MS's start menu is unhelpful in this regard: If you use Classic Shell start menu (free) for example this is easy. (You could simply download it and use it as a start menu editor!).

These sort of problems have been reported with previous upgrades e.g.
After Creators update, the OneDrive System tray icon disappeared and I - Microsoft Community
    - note the date...

Onedrive has become obscure to me now, as there is both a traditional exe and a version of onedrive from the Store (presumably not an exe). I seem to recall reading a note about it being implemented differently in 1803, but cannot be certain.

My guess is that this is yet another MS utility which will prove less reliable than a 3rd party cloud option, although it should have advantages by way of integration and syncing across devices.
