Security and Maintenance is somehow included in Devices and Drives

Hello everyone. I recently just reinstalled Windows 10 and so far I've been enjoying it, but somehow "Security and Maintenance" just appeared in Devices and Drives in File Explorer, and it's been annoying me. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

Just a wild hunch, but if your Right click on it, do you get a choice to Eject? What happens if you try that?

    Nope. Just these choices.

Hello NotShige, and welcome to Ten Forums.

Double check the registry keys at the locations below in Registry Editor (regedit.exe) to see if you have the {BB64F8A7-BEE7-4E1A-AB8D-7D8273F7FDB6} key under the NameSpace key.

If you do, delete the {BB64F8A7-BEE7-4E1A-AB8D-7D8273F7FDB6} key to remove "Security and Maintenance" from This PC.

    (32-bit and 64-bit Windows 10)
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace

    (Only 64-bit Windows 10)
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace

Brink: how on earth did you figure this out? I went looking for info to try to help out here and came up completely dry. Great work, BTW.

    Hey Ed,

It was from all those tutorials for adding and removing items from "This PC". I figured its CLSID key had to be in the same location.

Good thinking, and thanks for the explanation. Cliff also found the CLSID from the "GodMode" listing: another good place to go looking. Thanks to both of you.
