Fast Startup in W10. Enable or disable?

    Hi all -

Do you think that Fast Startup should be enabled in W10? Yes or no?

    Please explain your reasoning. Thanks!

I have found a few laptops won't shut down properly when Fast Startup is enabled. I also don't think, when it's enabled, that it starts any faster, unless you are using an SSD drive.

Mine is on by default.....I've never messed with it and never had an issue with it. But I also use sleep mode on my PC, so I guess it needs to be on.

Another case of "your mileage may vary" here. I usually shut it down because it should work okay for most configurations but you can run into issues for some of them. So, to be on the safe side, I usually disable it. Haven't noticed any spectacular speed boost either.

I don't need any of it's features so I turn and keep it OFF. As soon as I'm past BIOS post, my windows are up in 7 seconds. It also may cause more problems than it solves.

All my PCs boot from a SSD. I didn't find Fast Boot any faster so turned it off and disabled hibernation to avoid wasting space with hyberfil.sys

    Proof of the pudding territory.

If it works fine without any issues, leave it on. If issues, turn it off.

My vote is turn it off, and disable hibernation to remove the hiberfil.sys file.

I'll add another vote. Every system I use or build is running solid state memory, so it gets disabled and stays that way.
