Windows thinks I'm in an entirely different continent?

So I first noticed this problem when my automatic time zone for some reason jumped ahead to Central European Time when I'm actually in US Eastern Time. Opening up the Maps and Weather apps pinpoints my location to a city in the Netherlands when I've literally never stepped foot in Europe before. I tried resetting my modem/router but it didn't solve anything, but then I discovered it was a Windows/Microsoft problem.

Trying to determine my location with any Microsoft app or involving one would point me to the same Dutch city, but using a non-Microsoft product would correctly place me in the US e.g. Using even Google Maps in Edge would place me in Europe, but using it in Firefox/Chrome would show my correct location. Searching up my IP address also correctly shows my location. Restarting and updating to 1803 my computer and flushing my DNS via cmd has not fixed the issue, and even switching to an entirely different internet connection via my phone's hotspot doesn't do anything either so I'm currently at a loss as what to do.

Yup, I've checked my region settings and they're set to the US.

My bios time settings are correct and my computer is fairly new so I doubt the CMOS battery is dead or anything.

Had the same thing go on here recently. Windows kept changing me to Central America and an hour ahead of here in Central US. Once I disabled "Set time zone automatically" everything's been back to normal since.

Manually setting the time zone solves the issue of the wrong time, but it's only one of the symptoms of the underlying problem that Windows thinks I'm in Europe. Asking Cortana for the Weather or using the Maps app still puts me in the Netherlands which I think is some deeper problem.

Have you tried the registry edit in the tutorial I linked to above?

That's usually a good assumption but does not take into account where the product has been since manufacture, how long it's been on a shelf somewhere or how it's been stored. But they usually do have a long life.
