Explorer window not active for file selection

    Hi.

I have a videos folder. I am checking and deleting unwanted videos by opening each for few seconds and deleting ones I don't like.

Problem is that when I close the player and want to delete the video, the explorer window is no more active. So I have to click on the explorer to make it active each time and then press delete.

Few minutes back all was fine; whenever I closed the player, the explorer window was automatically active and I just pressed delete to delete the video.

I do remember opening mouse settings for something but don't remember changing any setting. Please advise how I can revert to my old setting.

    Thanks for help.

    See screenshots of both cases.

    Perhaps the bottom setting here?

Note- that's build 1709 not 1803 if you have that.

For your purposes, you may be interested in being able to have a media file play in a popup window when you hover over it. Quicker.
The free Qttabbar utility supports that, as well as providing tabs in file explorer and a lot more.

    Hi.
I have stopped updating. I am on build 16299. But I don't have that setting available, even in advanced mouse options and also the touchpad options. (See Screenshot).

As I mentioned, the problem was not there earlier and just cropped up today. I just want to revert to the old state.

    Please advise.

Beyond that I've no idea what's changed.

Note that by not updating, you also lose the benefit that Windows is effectively 'repaired' when upgraded. Ok, MS is now infamous for the problems and bugs upgrades introduce, but putting that aside, an upgrade that works does the same as an in-place upgrade in terms of fixing things.

That's because you and Dalchina are looking in different places. You are looking in Settings > Ease of Access

You need to look in Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Ease of Access Centre > Make the mouse easier to use.

@dalchina, FYI the Layout of Settings > Ease of Access has been radically rearranged in 1803, the Control Panel Ease of Access Centre however is unchanged.

    Hi.
Yes, you are right, its there in the Ease of Access Center.

Btw, the problem vanished by itself without any intervention.

Thanks all of you great guys for the very helpful suggestions.

    Kind regards.

Actually, I found that by installing updates, it erased all my custom settings and reverted the windows to standard settings which was not acceptable to me. So I stopped updating.
