Windows 10: Fingers crossed for 1803

Perhaps 'Windows as a service' means we have to service our PC's more regularly...? Or that we provide a service to MS by way of feedback. A friend and I are duly aware and a little anxious about 1803. (She doesn't want to turn her PC on..).

That's why, as insiders report, all of the current built issues, have been resolved...

Although insider versions have some own bugs, most bugs are fixed before they are in regular builds,

Should we count on this CountMike, especially since 1803 release?

Or we should say: Never mind if it doesn't work, I'll use or buy something else instead...

    I've never heard of LTSB.
From your description I can only presume that LTSB stands for Leave This Stuff Be !

A couple of observations: One is that Win10 is being characterized asWindows as a Service, as mentioned will be continually Upgraded and updated. Historically a program having a larger number assigned to it was an Upgrade, more complete than an update [equate update to the Service Packs of previous versions of Windows]. Another thing is that there are no 2 computers in use that are exactly alike, even buying 2 at the same place same time are identical until turned on and something done, program installed, settings different from each other. All these add up to the fact there will be issues seen and reporting them helps with the next Upgrade or update, even on your friends, neighbors, girlfriends, co-workers computer/s.
Sorry to say but this is IMO only marketing rubbish. Operating system as a service on my own client hardware is pure nonsense.*) OS must not change itself (and even remove installed programs, replace device drivers by crippled ones and destroy user settings) without the permission of user. Windows 10 home/pro does not meet elementary requirements given on usable desktop OS, please read carefully my two older posts linked above. It is the worst Windows system ever, much worse than Vista and even Win ME (they were problematic in other ways).

*) It works in VPS hosting because service provider guarantees server constant configuration (needed for given purpose, typically network services) and availability rate in time.

The only computers I use that don't bug me with automatic updates so far are running Linux Mint, have to manually check for updates. Even the Apple MacBook that failed on me would get in the way of work with some of it updates.

I don't count implicitly on anything MS says but this is mostly how it happens. That's one of reasons for insider versions.

And the rest of reasons are only this: Free debugging for all, more profit for MS (less and cheaper personnel). But you have to pay for this OS. I think MS itself pushes users to piracy (LTSB) which is so easy nowadays.

Well, a lot of us agreed to do it, nobody put a gun to my head. I'm even glad to do it. Nobody is forced to insiders nor even everybody accepted to Skip ahead insider.
