Stopping windows from auto resizing and autorelocating.

There are only a few occasion when I like Aero (if Aero is the cause) - that is the decrease in size of windows of some programs when they are pulled away from the top edge of the screen. ALL the other auroresizing that Aero (?) does in Win10 I find annoying. Is there a way of keeping that one redeeming feature, and preventing ALL other autoresizing and autorelocating of program windows ?

I think this may be the aero Snap feature, which may be disabled, Turn On or Off Aero Snap in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials

"If you turn off Arrange windows automatically by dragging them to the sides or corners of the screen (Aero Snap), you will no longer be able to drag maximized windows." That quote from the URL you suggest, tells me that I will lose the ONE feature of SNAP that I appreciate.

If you check the related tutorials at the bottom of the tutorial and some of the posts there are other single feature On/Off options which may give you a partial solution at least

I've not found anything relevant in the bottom of the tutorials you referred me to.

Hi, unfortunately this is insufficiently clear. Please quote a couple of exact examples or better still a video screen capture. Thanks!

I agree that a video would be optimal - but producing it is no small feat. That will take an unpredictable amount of time to arrange.

There are plenty of (free) screen capture progs - some posters use them.

I just used one I've never used before but got as a giveaway- took a couple of minutes

The ONLY Aero-Snap feature that I value.

Until such time as I manage to make video, let me try to describe the feature that I want to preserve - I do not know of any other Aero-Snap feature that I value.

If I open Firefox so that it fills the screen, and then click in the title bar (at the top of the window) and drag it downwards, Firefox no long fills the entire screen but gets resized to maybe half its original size. THAT I find useful.

I understand that - but not what your problem is, I'm afraid.

Here's a (random) video of Aerosnap - that you can disable as has been said.

You mention relocating windows. Normally a program creates its window at the same size and location as previously. Thus if I launch, then close, then relaunch explorer, it appears in the same place and the same size. Do you have difficulty with that?
