    How to completely get rid of font smoothing clear type in Windows 10

    My pc keeps reverting to smooth fonts, I hate it, I like crisp non aliased fonts.

    I modified this:

    Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop

    And changed the settings on FontSmoothingType to 1

    It works for a while, then the smooth fonts come back again....grrrrr!

    To make it even more frustrating, I can't do a system restore...

    How can I TOTALLY nuke smooth fonts options from Windows 10, even modifying registry values doesn't seem to work;(

    Did you try all of the steps that described in this link?

    And yes, there's an app for disabling font smoothing, referenced in the the link above.

    As for system restore...

Hi, I skipped Windows 8.1 after trying it for a while since font smoothing was terribly bad in some parts of the OS (such as Metro) and I found tons of threads on forums that tried to solve this problem for people who experience bad looking fonts...
