Leave one letter out and apply, then rename it again.

Windows file and folder names are not case sensitive, therefore a rename only containing case changes will not be applied. Change the name to something else, then change it again to what you'd prefer.

Remember when Windows 95 was pretty good, Windows 98 was pretty great, then Windows XP was amazing!!

It seems like Microsoft decided to go the opposite direction after XP. Dunno why.

I was on mobile and tried to edit my post to fix a wee typo, clicked edit, clicked the text, and... boom, post deleted. Should have known better. Happened last time I tried to edit a post using mobile. Works fine on elevenforum though.

When doing a case-change-only rename on...

    NTFS with Windows 7, 8, 10, 11 and...

    • The folder view is set to Details or Content, it just works.

    • The folder view is set to List, Icons, or Tiles you must press F5 to refresh the display.

    FAT, FAT32, or ExFAT with...

    • Windows 7 or 8, it just works.

    • Windows 10 or 11, you must do a two-step rename (e.g. add a character on first rename, change case and remove the added character on second rename).

Actually, as a matter of fact, Ten Forums is run by third party people; Microsoft does not own, nor operate this website, nor does it run Eleven Forums either.

This site just happens to have a few bugs here and there. I’ve spoken with the site administrator here in the past. It’s just the technology that runs this site isn’t as advanced as the newly designed forums. Eleven Forums uses a more recent forum website design to run that site, hence making it more reliable.

If any people who run this site come across this, they can inform you more about it.

If you're on a computer, (I'm on my computer), when I scroll down all the way to the bottom, I see this:

I'm sure the Mobile version of the site has something similar written too

Well, I hope my comment did not offend. It was only meant as a matter of fact and humor (i.e. I didn't learn from doing it once before). And, yes, I know these sites are independently run and have nothing to do with Microsoft. Did I somehow imply otherwise?

Oh I'm sure no admin here at the forums got offended in any way. Stuff happens. People point stuff out. It's actually productive to point out errors that occur, which makes the owners of certain products aware that there are bugs, so they can fix the bugs, if necessary, or if applicable. As long as a person isn't rude or offensive in any way, then that person is completely fine!

But from earlier, lol, I guess there's one line that threw me off a bit. But not to worry! I've said some pretty out there stuff and I've confused people a bunch of times before on here lol.

After reading my post, then reading the first line in your post, then reading that underlined sentence. That threw me off. lol. Sorry. I just noticed you're a Pro user, and you're a developer, so you know exactly everything about these sites. I really apologize. I used the mobile version for like once and only once, and on there it doesn't say anything about your profile. lol. (I assumed you're just a member). I apologize.
