Windows 10 won't boot after latest update

I have a laptop that applied the 1803 update yesterday. After it got done, it came up to a screen asking what language keyboard to use. After clicking US, it came up to the Recovery screen with the options for
    • Continue (Exit and continue to Windows Rollback)
    • Use another OS
    • Troubleshoot
    • Turn off PC

Continue just reboots and goes right back to where it started.

Clicking Troubleshoot gives me the standard System Restore, Previous version, Image Recovery, Startup Repair, and Command prompt.

Everything I click returns errors saying No Restore Points have been created on your computer's system or something similar. I tried a chkdsk and a sfc scannow as well and neither had any effect. chkdsk ran but sfc said it couldn't perform the requested operation.

Anyone have any idea on anything i can do to salvage this?

    Thanks.

    Hi.
You could try uninstalling the update in Safe Mode.
How to remove update KB4103721 from Windows 10 April 2018 Update | Windows Central

Scroll down for instructions to remove in Safe Mode. Then, block it.

Thanks. I ran out of time and decided to just pull the drive to copy off what I needed and then install Windows from scratch.

It was my dad's laptop and he has an older one he can use in the meantime so nothing major lost. Thanks for the suggestions. I'll set him up to store everything in OneDrive/Dropbox/whatever this time around. :)
