How can I create draglock feature and release automatically after 1sec

    Hello guys,

I used to have a laptop with touchpad driver allows me to lift my finger during dragging a file or selecting text and put my finger back and continue dragging or selecting. If I want to release the file, I should lift my finger for more than one second, if I put my finger before one second ends continue dragging the file.

Now I have thinkpad lenovo w541 laptop with Synaptics Pointing Device Driver, does not contain this feature. I guess this depends on the touchpad driver installed. Is there any way to activate, or created this feature using any program or script. I don't want to use Lock drag feature in windows because I must click again to release.

    Any help will be appreciated
    Thanks

You could try this - I've not tried it personally.
T440s TouchPad - Tap and Drag - Where is the "locking drags" setting? - Lenovo Community

Back up the registry/set a restore point before experimenting.

    Thanks dalchina for your reply.
Unfortunately this didn't work, I don't have Synaptics at all in this registry path but I created it and followed the steps and didn't work.

I hope someone has another solution.

You may need to take the info there as a starting point.
I searched my registry for Gestures and found

the value 3 is shown in the above. Whether you may have the same is of course unknown. This is a hack, after all, and one I've not heard of before.

OO regedit (free) and other such tools are great for searching the registry, as the search lists all results rather than regedit stopping at each. Much more convenient.

Thanks for the info and for this light and handy software.
I found in my registry these 4 paths:
    Code:
    ...\SynTP\StickPS2TM3053
    ...\SynTP\StickSMBTM3053
    ...\SynTP\TouchPadPS2TM3053
    ...\SynTP\TouchPadSMB2cTM3053
    Each has 'Gestures'.
The first two gestures has the value 32
The last two gestures has the value 3

I tried to change all, one by one, to the value 7 as suggested in the link you sent in your first reply.
I got different responses, but for the last path it did ClickLock but doesn't release only once I click/tap again, same as the classic feature of windows mouse setting. It doesn't release automatically without tapping/clicking.
