Power Loss during a major update... no longer Boots

So like the shmuck that I am, I accidentally unplugged the wrong power chord and my desktop is as in the middle of installing important update. I say important because it was the first time after 6 months my desktop was connected to the web, so thatís a lot of missed updates....
Well, now when I start up I get to the windows logo and a message on the bottom stating it was repairing. And then it would restart not very long after, and the exact same process I just now explained would happen all over again. This has gone on for almost a hour I let it do itís thing and nothing.. just a constant loop of restarting then saying itís repairing... ugh..
Guys, how do I get into safe mode? When I press F8 on post itís a key command for my Asus P6X58-E WS motherboard To pick a boot directory.. please, I beg of you.. I just got internet back for the first time in 6 months and this shit happens.... ugh.....

Hi nathanr411. Welcome to the TenForums @nathanr411

When you first boot and see the dots spining press and hold the power button until it shuts off. Power up again, see the dots, hold the power button till it shuts off.

On the third boot it is suppose to start Advance Startup Options, if it can. There was one the other day that just wouldn't go.

Boot to Advanced Startup Options in Windows 10

If this doesn't work I hope you have access to another machine and can create this boot disk which should allow you to copy out your data.

Windows 10 Recovery Tools - Bootable Rescue Disk

From there, unless another member has an idea I think you will need to re-install windows.

    Clean Install Windows 10

Unless you already have bootable media a re-install will take you to V1803 using the Windows Media Creation tool.

Lets see if another member has a better solution.

I second Caledon Ken's Windows 10 Recovery Tools Download disk. It will save your "bacon" so to speak as for as data is concerned. A clean install would be the next thing to do as well. The only thing that would be better than what I'm or Caledon Ken is telling you, is if you had an image of your computer before you did the update...then you could restore the image and then do the update and keep your hands away from the power cords (LOL!) Anyway, best of luck to you. Let us know the outcome.

Too late in the day now, but as mentioned above - when you next have a working PC

    - start using disk imaging routinely.

We constantly recommend Macrium Reflect (free) - yes- free... + external storage for the disk/partition images.
    (There are other such programs).

If you have disk images, restoration- even if your disk fails and has to be replaced- is relatively quick.
The disk images also act as complete backups- they can be mounted and files extracted using explorer.
