Automatic is the default setting.
Hi,
Often region needs to be set manually MS thinks I live in central Pacific time zone instead of central Canada lol
The default for which?
Settings > Time & Language > Date & time > Set the time automatically
or..
Services: Windows Time, W32Time, Startup type
It got a bit confused along the way. At first we all thought the OP was asking about Settings, but turns out they wanted to know about Services. The latter, it seems is determined by the 'set time automatically' switch in Settings, and is Disabled for 'off' and Manual for 'on'.
The default for the Settings is probably 'on', or 'automatic' as you say. I wouldn't know without trying a clean install (not that I'm about to try :))
Bree you're absolutely right. As Shawn says the "Set the time automatically" is by default to ON in Settings > Time & Language > Date & time > Set the time automatically
When this setting is set to ON, the Windows Time service is set to Manual (trigger start).
Now going to the OP's question: In Date & Time, put the "Set the time automatically" to ON and let the Windows Time service to its default: Manual (trigger start)
Sorry Bree,
It's turned on by default for Settings > Time & Language > Date & time > Set time automatically.
