i've gone far too long without thanking tenforums for being the tremendous resource that it is, in fact i can't imagine using windows 10 without having this fantastic site to lean on, and instead having to depend on the "official" site that points to scannow and dism as the cure-all for every windows prob that comes down the pike, i shudder to think... anyway, thanks again - the work you do, and the time and effort contributed by members, is greatly appreciated!

It is nice for such feedback. Yep - the owners/managers/regulars make this the best site in the world (and all parallel worlds in different dimensions

I do wonder mildly if sfc ever fixed anything for anyone.

Perhaps it did but I don't ever recall it happening even if in theory it should sometimes I suppose.

The problem with SFC is that it is often used as a placebo cure for issues that are not related in any way to corrupted system files - which is of course the only purpose of SFC. What it does do is give the tech time to think, it will not do any harm, and may improve things anyway
