Windows 10 1803 spring creators edition file sorting issue

Hi all!

I installed the newest Windows 10 edition, the spring creators update 1803 and encountered a weird issue regarding file sorting.

I usually sort files by date and group by type. This worked in the previous editions, now, grouping by type does not work.

Is someone else observing this problem and can give a possible solution?

Hmm, I also group by type and sort by name. Have you reset your folder view and then sort group by type followed by sort by date followed by apply to all folders? That should solve it for all folders below the one you applied the settings to.

Hi! This solved the problem on a wide way, all documents and images now are sorted by date and grouped by type. Just the video files are not. Looks like a problem that VLC is causing, as vlc and mp4 files are all grouped as VLC Media file.
