    fullscreen issues Win10 1803 update


    Hi guys,
    Since i installed update for the win10 build 1803 i cant watch video's in fullscreen.
    I mean, i can watch them, but as soon as i move the mouse my entire sreen turns back, and i have to put my laptop to sleep, or restart.

    I figured t has to do something with the video drivers, but i reinstalled both the intel and the nvidia ones, but that did not solve the problem.

    Other things that use the graphic cards like games or simple webbrowsing work fine.

    specs:
    Windows 10 Pro
    Intel® Core™ i7 6700HQ Processor,
    Integrated Intel® HD Graphics 530
    NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 960M with 2G GDDR5 VRAM

    Your profile says you are in the Netherlands. Do you have the N edition of Windows? Did you have the Media Feature Pack installed before the update to 1803?

    If so, you may need to reinstall the 1803 version, the 'Media Feature Pack for Windows 10 N (April 2018)'. There's a link to get it here...

    I have no windows media player, so i guess i have the N version. I never had windows media player so i never installed the media feature pack. Will installing the media pack solve this issue?

    Edit: i cant seem to install Windows_MediaFeaturePack_x64_1803, it says not compatibe.

    It may do for the N edition. It's not just the media player, it includes codecs and other media-related functions. The Media Player is an optional feature, so just being missing doesn't confirm you have the N edition.

    Edit: i cant seem to install Windows_MediaFeaturePack_x64_1803, it says not compatibe.
    Two possibilities, your Windows is 32-bit, or it's not the N edition. Both can be confirmed in several ways, the simplest place to look is Settings > System > About. If you have the N version of Pro then for 'edition' it will say 'Windows 10 Pro N'.

    OK, sorry to have led you astray...

    Looks like your first assumption of video drivers may be the correct one. I don't have Nvidia so can't help much further there. There have been others reporting video problems since 1803, so hopefully one of them will be along soon to help.

    I am having the same issues since the last update. 99% sure this is a w10 issue and not necessarily a driver problem. I updated all of my video drivers again anyway and the problem persists. There have always been issues with the taskbar overlapping fullscreen applications in w10 and I think these problems are related. I am betting that we have to wait for a fix from Microsoft.

    I think i solved the problem. I turned off hardware acceleration in google Chrome.

    That one has fixed many similar problems in the past. Not a solution as such, more like a very good workaround until Nvidia update their drivers.
