Hello , i have 2 partitions , C and D , C has 420GB , and D has 24.9 GB , windows folder size is 15GB , its located in C Drive , Can i change its Location to D ? so that if i want to make things like restore or whatever , Data on D get Deleted , and C stay same , is that possible ? any harm on it ? is it possible ? i dont want new updates so system files dont need to get bigger on size ,
There is no provision for moving the Windows folder to another drive, at least not anything that is remotely practical. I don't follow you reasoning why you want to do this.
You don't want to move the Windows files, they need to be on the C: drive or your computer won't boot.
However, you can move your C\Users\[UserName] files to the D: drive.
However, you have plenty of space on the C: drive and very little on the D: drive, I don't know why you would want to do this?
If disaster strikes, it will be on the Windows files not on the data files on D:.
Please would you explain who or what created the D drive and what has been / is currently on it. It is a very strange size so I suspect there is a story to it.
Given your overall disk size, you could usefully resize your partitions so that C [the Windows drive] is only 80-100GB and D is the rest, 350-370GB [to be used for all data by moving C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents etc there].
You could then make routine system images of the C drive and conventional file backups of the D drive. If disaster struck and Windows became inoperable, you would then be able to restore the C drive system image without disrupting the data on D. This arrangement is, judging from your comments, what you are trying to achieve.
