Changing Indexing and Contacts folder locations.

You can move User (system) folders with this procedure:

- right click on a folder you want to move (i.e. Contacts) and click on Properties.

- In new window that appears, select Location Tab and then Move.

- When you click on move, you are prompted to select a new location. You have to select folder where you want to move Contacts (create new folder and name it as you wish ).

- Click on apply.

Thanks, but I didn't need advice about "how" to change locations.

I wanted to know if anyone has experienced symptoms of instability when doing it. For instance, since the time I changed the contacts location, it now crashes when I try to make changes in contacts.

Also, would there be negative effects from disabling Indexer Backoff?

The simplest way which i use myself is just to right click and drag it to the new location and make sure "Move" is chosen. Job done

I wouldn't do this with system User folders. May get you in trouble. Follow the procedure described in tutorials, so the system can make all the necessary adaptation in paths. I've never got any problems with moving User folders and I move most of them.

It works everytime for me, i check the location afterwards and its reflected
