Windows 10: access denied on android phone Solved

    access denied on android phone


    hi looking for help please I have win 10 64 bit on dell OptiPlex, cannot transfer files from android phone to pc it comes up with access denied message it works fine for the other way round i.e. from pc to phone .
    it seems the problem is the pc as it works fine on my laptop with same version of windows if I plug usb stick in as well it will transfer from phone to usb stick and then from stick to pc
    can any body help please

    Welcome to the forum. How are you copying files ie explorer or software. Is the error on the folder your copying to or is it the same with any folder?

    Hi thanks for reply just dragging across in explorer have tried folders and straight to desktop

    What is the make it phone and android version? Have you enabled developer mode and can you open a file directly from phone

    Hi thanks for reply the phone is Samsung s5 on 6.1 but problem also on tab pro 8.4. On 7.1. both rooted and developer options switched on. only problem on dell desktop PC laptop works fine just tried another galaxy note on 4.1 same problem wondering if maybe something in bios but it works fine with usb drive
    also can copy files thro pc onto usb stick then onto pc no problem can open any files no problem just cannot
    move onto pc either into a folder or onto desktop

    It's trying to work out if it's the phone or PC. Try creating a folder on c then settings permission on it to everyone see if you can copy to that you could also share it and set that to everyone

    thanks for the start. created an folder with all permissions set and it worked still cannot copy to desktop, any way of setting
    all permissions to every user as there is only myself and my wife use the pc
