Did you disable Cortana ? It should show up in the big blank panel above the search box.
Actually, it did...
Windows 10 Search not WorkingI decided to search something in the Windows 10 search bar yesterday - and it didn't work. Typing something led to a blank result box. I've tried everything I could think of. I even tried YouTube tutorials. I also noticed something else. In the task manager, my memory is being used a LOT more. When no app is open, (even in the background) It uses about 30% of the memory.
It's odd that your search result doesn't even include the icons and the word 'Filters' that normally appear at the top. I'm not sure if it helps, but I can create a blank result like yours by typing one or mores space characters in the search box. A search result should appear if any other character is type after that, though.
Looks like search is seeing everything you type as a 'space'. Odd, try a Restart and see if I still does that.
Whoops. Sorry I double posted. I though I accidentally canceled it. I did restart several times and that does nothing.
Do you have any other user accounts? If not, you could make a new local account as a test.
If you sign in to another account, does search work correctly there?
Bree is on to something. I had this happen on one of my computers with multiple accounts. The blank search results only happened with one user. It was a corrupt user profile. I created another profile and moved files over to resolve.
Maybe I can fix something in the Registry Editor?
