How we ignorantly compare Facebook to Microsoft, on purpose "forgetting" to mention how different these companies are and how different reasons they have to collect any data...

Twisting and misusing the details just to make them support invalid facts is in my books about the same as lying.

Anyway, one good example of how telemetry is used to make our Windows usage better and safer is How Microsoft used and will use it to fight malware. Our fellow member @EdTittel wrote about that on Search Enterprise Desktop some time ago: MS Foils Coin Mining Compelling Telemetry Case - Windows Enterprise Desktop

Indeed, this is the future, but technology is not the problem, people are.
MS, unlike other companies, at least tries to keep privacy reasonable.
Check out this movie about, what is coming, it is cool, but a bit scary.

Wow......the concept is brilliant. If one were to take this a plausible then we must take another look at the Matrix.........Hmmm.

Isn't it sad that after nearly three years, we still get the bs crap about spying?

No matter how the tin foilers say, there has not been EVEN ONE case where MS has been shown to use telemetry for nefarious purposes!

I minimise telemetry etc, not for altruistic reasons, but simply to minimise use of pc resources doing it.

How we quickly forget the FB hearings.......
Lol, FB was established on premise that people would share their intimate details to make money for FB thru advertising, no idea why was anybody surprised at last happenings.

What a ridiculously naïve statement! Just this morning I got an email from an old childhood friend who finally gave up and reported her husband to authorities for continuously beating her up. Does that mean that we all men beat our wives, some of us just haven't been caught? I mean, if one does that...

I know the above goes off topic but in all honesty, that was my first thought when I saw your incredibly <ADJECTIVES REMOVED IN COMPLIANCE TO FORUM RULES> comment.

Kari, you can be a fan-boy of Windows without being a fan-boy of Microsoft. :)
