The logs had events displaying BSOD and unexpected restarts.
The bugchecks were 3B and 119.
There were no dump files collected by the log collectors.

    1) download and install Everything
    2) search for: win32k.sys-20180724-1138.dmp 7/24/2018 11:41:55 AM 995.09
    3) zip the file > post a one drive or drop box share link into this thread

    4) Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:
    5) sfc /scannow
    6) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    7) chkdsk /scan
    8) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread

    @zbook,
I am currently compiling the file I needed. Where can I find the dmp file? I am lost.
also, in step 1 what should I download and install? What is everything?
I took advice from my friend to use Defraggler to defrag the files for a while.

I'm too scared to update BIOS by myself. Should I go meet a technician?

Everything software is a very fast way to find anything on the computer.
It will index everything on internal and external drives.
It can be set to start on the boot or only have it launch when you need it.
    This is a link: voidtools

Many years ago with old hardware there were problems with BIOS upgrades.
Rarely do I see a thread where someone had problems.

If you want to be extra cautious you can backup all the computer files with either or both:
    a) copy and paste the USERS folder or individual users folders to another drive.
    b) make a backup image using Macrium
This way all of the files are protected.

Copy and paste this into everything search: win32k.sys-20180724-1138.dmp
If it appears then zip and post a one drive or drop box share link into the thread

    The bugcheck was AB.
There was no definitive driver identified in the debugging.

For startup and recovery system failure:
    a) uncheck automatically restart
    b) reboot

When there is a BSOD with automatically restart unchecked you should see a BSOD window with bugcheck and : (
Sometimes it may display a misbehaving driver in the form *.sys
If you witness the beginning of the BSOD it may display a % counter.
If you see it make sure that you allow it to rise to 100% before rebooting so that there is sufficient time to create the dump file.
It is easy to miss computer crashes or unexpected reboots if automatically restart is checked.
With this box unchecked you should now see the BSOD window and no restart.
This alerts you that something needs troubleshooting.

For the BIOS many years ago with old systems the BIOS could be "bricked". This can still happen but the likelihood is very small nowadays with the different types of BIOS. It comes with a however though as there are no guarantees. So it's always best to have files backed up and prepared for anything unexpected.

The website had problems today for everyone.
It appears to be fixed now.

There was a BSOD yesterday that was not reported in the thread.
Had you see the BSOD window with bugcheck?
There was a misbehaving driver identified in the debugging.
    The bugcheck was 9C.

    1) Find a replacement driver for: rt640x64.sys Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller
The first choice for drivers in the computer or motherboard manufacturer.
If a driver is not available the next best choice is the component manufacturer's website
    2) Uninstall the driver using device manager
    3) install the new driver

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...0-8d22254aa1c1

    4) Whenever there is a BSOD run the BETA log collector and post a new zip into the thread:
    https://www.tenforums.com/attachment...-v2-beta10.zip

    5) If there is freezing after the driver change the next step will be stress testing.
