Back to the registry to insert the "metered" hack.
Why? The registry hack was never needed for WiFi and...

...no longer needed for Ethernet either (that's 1703, the Creators Update or later).

Bugs exists. But NONE should exist. The existence of bugs is no excuse for them.
You didn't answer my question. Please show me an operating system without any bugs.

Windows 7, the best OS ever

Just give it time Steve C or just look around the forum, people are complaining/reporting problems already.

Microsoft can not test 1803 on every piece of hardware in the world, so of course there will be issues. That`s why it`s best to wait, if possible.

What? You're missing all of the new features!Oh, wait! You're not really missing anything (except for new bugs). So, never mind. :)
Haha! But seriously, it's been 'butter' and actually fixed some old unresolved USB issues that I had with the Oculus on 1607.
I don't permit Windows to install any drivers (USB 3.0 aside), using only what my hardware manufacturers use.
All that will be updated from here on is Windows Defender stuff and the occasional cumulative update (after I've checked the KB to ensure it's not installing anything related to new features/builds that I don't want).

Windows 7, 10, Linux Various Builds

I can't believe this still needs to be said, but one person's experience doesn't determine whether a product is good or not! Linux distros have plenty of their own issues upon release, and you're fooling yourself if you think they don't. If Microsoft didn't listen to it's customers, they wouldn't be the company they are today. There's absolutely no rationale to support that.

Do what you want, as it is your computer, but there's no reason to hold off on this build. If you want to switch to Linux, go for it, but you're going to be really disappointed if you think it's an issue free playground.
    I understand your point.

However, I feel far more comfortable with various Linux distros at this point than Windows 10.
I'm tired of being a beta-tester for a paid product, so I tend to wait until the build is essentially ironed out.

IMO, MS should make the W10 product rock-solid rather than implementing new features that they want.

I'm holding off on this build.
I just find it amazing that Microsoft does not listen to or care about it's customers.

Polish what you have before adding/removing features. Linux doesn't aggravate me!

    Enough said!
Linux is in same boat like Windows just it isnt represented enough i know cause i use it

This guy seems an unbiased observer (apparently he's equally harsh on every OS)

I want to make one thing crystal clear - Windows, in some regards, is even worse than Linux and it has its own share of critical problems....

...Here are a few important considerations before you start reading this article:

    • If you believe Linux is perfect and it has no problems, please close this page.
    • If you think any Linux criticism is only meant to groundlessly revile Linux, please close this page.
    • If you think the purpose of this article is to show that "nothing ever works in Linux or Linux is barely usable", you are wrong, please close this page.
    • If you believe Linux and Linux users will work/live fine without commercial software and games, please close this page.
    • If you think I'm here to promote Windows or Mac OS, please close this page.
    • If you think I'm here to spread lies or FUD about Linux, please close this page immediately and never ever come back. What are you doing here anyway? Please go back to flame wars and defamations.

Keep in mind that this list serves the purpose of showing what needs to be fixed in Linux rather than finding faults in it.

I have no intention of being a guinea pig and fully intend to give MS time to iron out any bugs by waiting at least 3 months before upgrading.

I don't understand. Mine is set to "2", as in "metered".
    Code:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\NetworkList\DefaultMediaCost]
    "Default"=dword:00000002
    "Ethernet"=dword:00000002
Is that no longer needed? Or ... is that no longer working?
