    Macrium is amazing!
It is at times like this you know it is a Rolls Royce compared with the opposition.

I have to give full credit to @f14tomcat for this revelation. He's the one who told me it could be done, and how to do it.
Of course. We have to find something bad to say about Macrium Reflect or we might appear to be biased. I know - we could say it is unfair to other similar products because it is so good :-D.

The only bad thing I could come up with since I first saw this thread yesterday.... has already been mentioned. Incremental not in the free version. It would be so awesome if they added that.

Has Will the 3rd meeting been recorded? Would really be nice if I could watch it at my leisure. @Kari?

    Edited for proper tense.

All sessions will be recorded, various pieces of them might be posted here, depending on the content. I will edit the part in last session with Nick Sills from Macrium attending, including Q&A and make a separate video of that, which will then most certainly be posted here.

On another topic, most wanted feature to be added to free version of Reflect seems to be incremental backups. I would like to see it added, too.

However, as with any software maker offering both free and paid for version of their product, I think we need to think this in a realistic way from their point of view. There must remain a reason for users to pay for a version with more features, at the same time making sure that also the free version is good enough to be used by those users not able or willing to pay.

Macrium Reflect Free is an excellent solution for imaging and backup, but as it is free, it naturally does not contain all the features from the paid for version.

IMO, it is simply a matter of keeping ahead of the opposition. AOEMI (and I think Veeam) offer it in the free version. To many people who buy the paid versions, their first impression is via the Free version.

AOEMI claim they have over a million users now. MR is around 5 million ( I asked them). So AEOMI is a growing threat. In part because the gui is easier for beginners, and partly due to incrementals being offered.

Of course Paramount have to decide if loss of Home sales offering incrementals in Free outweighs the significantly reduced market share in Free market. I upgraded because of Rapid Delta Restore and Macrium Redeployment, not just for incrementals.

In fact, AOEMI offered their free version to businesses and Macrium has recently followed suit. They obviously have taken the view that keeping market share with the Free version is important.
